RECYCLED WASTE PLASTIC

NewRoad® is a highly engineered asphalt additive made from recycled waste plastic that helps increase the strength and longevity of asphalt pavements. A sustainable solution, without sacrificing performance

TWO PROBLEMS, ONE SOLUTION
If 100% of the asphalt produced in the US incorporated NewRoad® polymers per ton mix, EVERY discarded plastic bag would be reused.
10,000 TONS OF ASPHALT = 2 MILLION PLASTIC BAGS RECYCLED
NewRoad® helps solve the plastic waste problem, all while improving asphalt performance and longevity.
PERFORMANCE MEETS SUSTAINABILITY
We're not trading "good for the environment" with bad performance. NewRoad® improves resistance to rutting, cracking and moisture, making roads last longer. Better performance, better for the environment.

NOT JUST ANY PLASTIC

NewRoad® is selectively sourced from high-quality industrial plastic waste and is chemically engineered to enhance asphalt.

TRIED AND TESTED

NewRoad® has been extensively tested in the lab and field for years. The test results speak for themselves.

PREDICTABLE

Trust in what you’re getting. NewRoad®’s engineering ensures consistency, quality, and predictable performance every time.

EASY TO MIX

NewRoad® is easily mixed in on-site at the plant through a dry-blending process, making the mix easily adjustable and requiring no storage at the plant.

SouthEAST Polk High School

This 16-acre parking lot was paved by Grimes Asphalt & Paving using NewRoad. A total of 8,000 tons of mix prevented the equivalent of 800,000 water bottles from entering landfills and oceans while simultaneously improving the durability and strength of the parking lot.

We commend Southeast Polk High School for its sustainable and innovative approach to pavement maintenance. Imagine how much plastic we could keep out of the environment if more pavement owners took this approach.

RIDLEY CREEK STATE PARK

With over 1 million people visiting Ridley Creek State Park every year, the roads see plenty of traffic and need constant repair.

To save taxpayers money and help keep waste out of the environment, PennDOT collaborated with the Conservation & Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, opting for an innovative and sustainable approach: adding NewRoad® to the mix. The park entrance was paved with NewRoad® and will serve as a comparison to conventionally paved asphalt roads in the park during a 5-year evaluation period.

Not only does NewRoad® keep plastic out of landfills, but it also improves asphalt strength and longevity. We’re confident this road will look good as new in 5 years.

NE 22nd st - Des Moines, IA

A Control vs NewRoad® section was constructed on NE 22nd St in Des Moines, IA in November of 2017.

This particular road experiences heavy industrial traffic and was in need of constant repair.

After 5 years, the control section is showing fatigue cracking, while the NewRoad® section remains crack-free.
